Sleeman Sports Complex dives into renewed agreement with Aquatic Achievers

While the Brisbane Aquatic Centre at Sleeman Sports Complex (SSC) regularly hosts our training Olympians, it’s also where many swimmers get their first start in the pool through the Aquatic Achievers learn-to-swim program!

SSC recently renewed their agreement with Aquatic Achievers, resulting in one of the longest running partnerships for a learn-to-swim program across Australia.

The program delivers more than 17,000 lessons per week nationally and has been teaching kids from 3 months old to 12 years old to swim at SSC for more than 30 years, with a strong focus on safety, progress and confidence around the water.

SSC General Manager, Mirella Taylor said the renewed partnership has many benefits for the community.

“We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with the Aquatic Achievers and a looking forward to watching the program continue to grow and help Queensland kids become confident and capable swimmers,” Ms Taylor said.

“The Aquatic Achievers learn-to-swim program is a favourite among families in South East Queensland and provides a valuable opportunity for us to continue our community engagement through the program.

“It’s incredible to think that young swimmers participating in the Aquatic Achievers program today could be representing Australia at Brisbane 2032 – it doesn’t get much better than that from our perspective in terms of watching an athlete’s journey,” she said.

Head of Operations at Aquatic Achievers, Sean Langeveld said the group was pleased to continue their long standing partnership with SSC.

"We are proud to continue our valued relationship with Sleeman Sports Complex, one which we have enjoyed for nearly 30 years,” Mr Langeveld said.

"We are ready to continue work in creating safe and confident Little Achievers through our learn to swim program, with a number of children going on to become future champions through our partnerships with Chandlers' highly complementary performance swimming ecosystem."
